In spite of the fact that Scotland is a separate jursidiction from England & Wales, with a different judicial system, the Road Traffic Act 1988 is applied here in the same way. All the main motoring offences are defined and detailed within the Road Traffic Act, including speeding and drink driving and we can advise on all aspects of its applcation and interpretation.
Today the jurisdictional differences between Scotland and England and Wales have little effect in the application of Road Traffic Law and driving offences will be treated in much the same way. Occasionally there are differences in interpretation and there are also some laws which apply in England, but not Scotland.
